Because of the regular emphasis that Crossroads places on baptism, we are often asked about its importance.
Total immersion is baptism as taught in the Bible. Baptism pictures for the believer the reality of one's death to the old life, one's burial, and one's resurrection to the new life in Christ. The physical act of going under the water and coming up again is an outward visible testimony of one's faith in God.
Is it important? ... Yes!
The Bible teaches that once a person hears the gospel, believes the gospel, repents of his/her sins and confesses a decision to follow Christ, the next step is baptism by immersion. (Acts 2:37-38, Acts 8:34-38, Acts 10:47-48)
If you are a believer who has not yet been baptized (immersed), we would welcome the opportunity to share in your baptism.
