This last week we talked about Revelation 2 and the tragedy of losing your first love/letting your love for Jesus grow cold. Near the beginning of every year I speak on this topic, as much for me as for everyone else. It can become so easy to assume our love for Him stays consistent, but if it's not actively growing, it's most probably shrinking. It's not a pleasant experience to be telling Jesus just how busy I am and about all the things I'm doing (supposedly) in His name, all the while forgetting again that He cares most about my love for Him. In Revelation 2:5 He tells us to "...do the things you did at first" (when you first realized that The God of all creation knows you intimately and loves you infinitely). He doesn't tell us to drum up a feeling for Him, He directs us to take action- "DO the things...".
So here are some of the things I have learned to do to refresh my love for Jesus:
I would love to hear any other ideas that help you to reconnect with God.
