Prime Timers

Mission       "God be glorified in all we do!"

Our mission is to provide for the needs of the senior adults in our congregation and community.  Through this ministry, Crossroads will support spiritual and educational growth, encourage new relationships and provide Christian social activities.  It is our goal to glorify the Lord and to assist in bringing His message to the senior adult community of Vacaville and beyond.

This ministry is for those fifty-five and over.  Retirees, as well as those still employed, are encouraged to participate.  Several activities help us keep in touch with one another as a group and enable us to encourage one another in our daily lives.

Activities

• Monthly Potluck lunch
  Every first Thursday of the month, from 11:30 am - 1:30 pm, at the church Ministry Center, we enjoy delicious food, and inspirational programs designed to encourage and entertain.  We sing favorite hymns, recognize special days, such as birthdays and anniversaries and enjoy special gifts and are led in scripture based inspirational messages.  Attendees are encouraged to bring a main dish along with a salad or dessert, however you are not obligated to bring a dish- just be sure to come.  First timers bring nothing but your appetite.  Such a deal!
• Quarterly Dinners
  For those Prime Timers still employed, we schedule an evening activity so everyone can participate.  Keep an eye on the church calendar and bulletin for dates and times.
• Crossings
  Prime Timers join together in crossing roads of many kinds.  Some are outside the normal monthly events.  These crossings encourage making new friends, as well as visiting new and interesting sights.  It could be a trip to Old Sacramento, a concert or play or a drive to Apple Hill.  Whatever crossings engaged in, we assure safety, fine food and friendship in a Christian atmosphere.
• Small Group
  We meet weekly on Thursday afternoons at 1:30 pm in the Ministry Center (no small group on the 1st Thursday of the month, after the luncheon).  As there is no time frame for the study, we move at a comfortable pace.  After the Bible Study we assemble the weekly church bulletins and fellowship.
